Last week the police in Budapest decided to ban the Pride March scheduled to take place 18 June 2011. However this past weekend the Metropolitan Court of Budapest overturned the ban.

ILGA-Europe and other international organisations were appalled by the decision of the police, and called for that the decision should be reversed. [link to PR] There are still a lot of pressure on the pride from various political groups in Hungary, and ILGA-Europe are monitoring the situation and supports the local LGBTI organisations.
